UV Safety Awareness Month

The sun does not ask permission before it damages your skin. Most of that damage happens years before anyone notices it. This month is about sunscreen as a daily habit, not an afterthought, and about the skin you are protecting for the next fifty years, not just today.

National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month

Established in 2008 in honor of author Bebe Moore Campbell, this month exists because minority communities are consistently less likely to access mental health care and more likely to be taught that struggle should be carried quietly. Peace is not a reward you earn after proving how much you can withstand.

Less access. More stigma. Same right to peace.

Disability Pride Month

Disability Pride Month began in Boston in 1990 and has spread to cities nationwide since. It exists alongside the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, which became law on July 26, 1990, after disabled activists fought publicly and personally to get it passed. Pride here means visibility, not inspiration for everyone else's comfort.

Jul 18 Nelson Mandela International Day 67 years of public service, honored with 67 minutes of service to others. Small acts still count.

Jul 26 Parents' Day + ADA Anniversary One day, two reasons to show up differently: the people who raised you, and the law that said access is a right.
