He keeps advocating for us
There’s this section on the @YouVersion Bible App: Guided Scripture called Honor God. It references Romans 8:34 NIV. Christ Jesus, who died, who was raised to life is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
I used to think the greatest part of Jesus’ love was the sacrifice the cross, the suffering, the physical pain. But today I realized something that shook me even more: He didn’t stop loving me after the sacrifice. He didn’t stop giving. He didn’t stop choosing me. He is still, right now, at the right hand of the Father advocating for me.
And that hits me because I know I haven’t always honored Him. I know I’ve ignored Him, forgotten Him, taken Him for granted. I didn’t spit on Him or beat Him physically, but I’ve done it figuratively in the days I didn’t appreciate Him. And yet, He still defends me. He still represents me. He still speaks for me.
Who loves like that? Who keeps coming back with confidence, strength, and loyalty after being mistreated? Only Jesus. Only the One whose love is perfect, secure, and unshakeable. That’s why He is worthy of all honor and all praise at all times.
